The inaugural NamesCon Online conference will happen September 9 – 11, 2020 virtually and from the comfort of wherever you login from!
I believe this completely online format of NamesCon will open up the door to a lot of domain investors from all over the world, who may not have always had the opportunity to make it to the physical event. This will allow people from all over the globe to join in on networking, learning, sharing and building knowledge of the domain space.
NamesCon has been happening since 2014 in the physical and in person format when it was founded by Richard Lau. On August 19, 2016 WorldHostingDays acquired NamesCon and has been running it since. Originally, NamesCon was hosted at the Tropicana Las Vegas for the first five years until changing locations and venues to Austin, Texas for the January 2020 event. Although the conference has been live streamed over the last few years by many in the industry including NamePros, this will be the first time the event will happen completely online and in the fully virtual format.
Over the last few years, more and more conferences have been moving online. This has been going on long before COVID-19, but the current virus pandemic has been pushing even more meetups and conferences to follow suit. I signed up on July 3, and purchased the $64.23 ticket which included the NamesCon Online swag bag. I love getting swag from events, so I was pretty stoked to receive my package in the mail today.
Here is what is included in the NamesCon Online swag bag!
I'm pumped my @NamesCon Online swag arrived today.

To give you a quick high level overview of what you might expect the NamesCon online 2020 format to look like, below I’ve added a few mockup pics courtesy of the staff at NamesCon.
This should help you develop a general idea of what you might expect some of the sessions to look like from the user interface perspective.
You can check out the three day agenda on the NamesCon Online 2020 Agenda page. They’ve added a nice filter feature function as shown below to filter by topics such as aftermarket, auction, best practice, branding, break, breakout session, broker, development, domain industry, and more.
Let’s not forget about the NamesCon Online AUCTIONS that are being ran by GoDaddy this year. The auctions taking place at GoDaddy started running on August 10 and will run through September 10, 2020. I believe submissions have already ended, so if you didn’t already get your domains submitted for the auction, I would get them in early for the January 2021 auction which is supposed to be taking place physically in Austin again, pending COVID-19 and other circumstances that could change that.
To get the best understanding of all that will be offered at the virtual conference this year, my advice is to navigate the website at NamesCon.online and don’t forget to download the NamesCon Online app which should be available in both the Google Playstore for Android and in the iOS app store for Apple.
I’m really excited about NamesCon Online, and I hope I see many of your faces there that I already know from within the domain industry. I’m also looking forward to meeting and getting to know many of you I have not yet met.
If you will be attending the event drop me a comment below so I can make sure we connect. See you online September 9th-11th!
