Austin, Texas will be a great place to host NamesCon 2020. If you aren’t familiar with Austin, first and foremost it is the capital of Texas. The city’s official slogan promotes Austin as “The Live Music Capital of the World”. This is a reference to the city’s many musicians and live music venues, as well as the long-running PBS TV concert series Austin City Limits.
“Keep Austin Weird” has been a local motto for years, featured on bumper stickers and T-shirts. This motto has not only been used in promoting Austin’s eccentricity and diversity, but is also meant to bolster support of local independent businesses. Austin, TX has also become quite a hub for start-ups and other technology based business.
NamesCon 2020 should fit right in and be received well in the great city of Austin, TX. The dates and times for the event haven’t been announced yet, but are expected to be around the same as previous years. Hope to see you there!
