Legendary Billionaire investor Mark Cuban recently purchased the domain name Democracy.com.
Mark Cuban who owns the Dallas Mavericks and is well known for his role as one of the Sharks on the popular reality television show Shark Tank, purchased the domain name when the previous owner Talmage Cooley emailed Mark and invited him to buy the domain name, just days before the auction was set to close.
Talmage Cooley originally used the domain Democracy.com as a social start-up platform where civic groups and politicians could connect with supporters. In February of 2019 the enterprise ran out of money prompting the sell of the highly valuable domain name which was owned by one of Cooley’s investors who he chose not to name.
The domain name was listed for auction at Heritage Auctions with a minimum bid of $300,000 but sold privately before the auction happened according to The New York Times and other sources.
According to an email exchange between Mark Cuban and The New York Times, Cuban explained that he had no immediate plans for the highly symbolic address and had purchased the domain to protect it from abuse – or, in his own words, he purchased it “to make sure someone didn’t do something crazy with it.” wrote
Minimum information was offered about the deal, but Cuban did say, “Someone sent me a cold email, and I gave them a price I would be willing to pay. They said yes.” according to the NY Times.
Although there are no immediate plans for the domain name, one thing is for certain here. Democracy.com is a stellar domain name that has massive potential to do great things when and if Mark Cuban decides to develop the highly valuable piece of internet real estate.
How much do think Mark Cuban paid for the domain name? Leave a comment with your speculation.

Thank you for any other magnificent post. Where else could anyone get that type of information in such an ideal
method of writing? I have a presentation next week, and I
am on the look for such information.
