Pre-order is here for HTC’s Exodus blockchain smartphone!
The blockchain smartphone from HTC was first announced back in May 2018!
The Exodus pre-order was announced today during the Web3 Summit, an event taking place in Berlin from Oct. 22-24.
During the pre-order or early access period the phone can only be purchased via Bitcoin (BTC) or Ethereum (ETH) according to the HTC Exodus website.
Early Access pricing for the Exodus 1 is listed around $960 (0.15 BTC or 4.78 ETH) with a shipping date of December 2018.
According to Coin Telegraph HTC confirmed in July it had plans to to install a native crypto wallet inside its phone, and would also support the first popular decentralized application (DApp) built on the Ethereum blockchain Crypto Kitties.
According to The Verge instead of a native wallet inside the phone like earlier planned, “The phone contains a wallet that’s kept in a secure area “protected from the Android OS,” which can be used to hold the keys to your cryptocurrency and tokens like CryptoKitties.
HTC’s chief decentralized officer Phil Chen originally said, “Each Exodus phone would act as a node to facilitate bitcoin trading among users and that the phone would allow you to “own your own identity.” Instead at this time, the Exodus 1 simply has a part of the phone partitioned off for added security according to
of The Verge.Below are the Full Specs:
