NamesCon 2020 kicked off with a bang yesterday in Austin, Texas and the conference has began heating up with the live auction taking place today. Add.com reportedly sold for $800,000 which is a stellar deal for the buyer and seller of this three letter English dictionary word .com.
The Domains sent out a tweet about the sale linking to an article with multiple other sales.

The domain Add.com was first registered on July 07, 1994 according to Whoxy.com which would make the domain 25 years old. The first record I can see is on July 12, 2015 where it looks like the domain owner was under privacy. The status stayed the same from then until April 27, 2018 when the domain moved to another registrar but still under privacy reflected as Privacy.co.com, Inc Privacy ID# 735240. On January 20, 2020 the domain changes records to reflect the owner Saavy Investments, LLC Privacy. I’ve captured the last four records in the image below
Offices.com sold for $260,000 which is another nice sale. In my opinion this domain could have probably sold for more, but sometimes domain owners are just ready to cash in. In this scenario it looks like GoDaddy’s NameFind portfolio will be the ones cashing in. The domain Offices.com was first registered on October 4th, 1993 making the domain 26 years old. The domain was owned by Ian Andrew up until sometime around 2016 and then as of September 15, 2017 the domain nameservers began reflecting NameFind. Congratulations to the buyer as well as NameFind for selling this great domain name.
There were many more bids and sales of relevance as well as some domains that didn’t sell like Burb.com that had a reserve of $225,000, Futons.com that with a reserve of $110,000 and RagstoRiches for $17,000. See a full list courtesy of Raymond Hackney who posted the domain auctions with the amount of bids and prices on The Domains.
What are your thoughts on the auctions and sales that have happened so far at NamesCon 2020 in Austin Texas? Do you believe Add.com and Offices.com sold for reasonable amounts or do you believe the owners should have held the domains to sell at a future date? I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on the live auctions we’ve seen happen so far.
In conclusion, I hope everyone at NamesCon is having a fantastic time networking and talking about domain names. I wish I could be there and hope to be there next year.
